Stenonychosaurus (/"sten-o-NY-ko-SORE-us"/; "narrow claw lizard") is a defunct genus of small theropod dinosaur that was originally described based on fossil material from the Late Cretaceous Dinosaur Park Formation of Alberta, Canada. However, subsequent research revealed that the specimens assigned to Stenonychosaurus were closely similar to those of Troodon formosus, leading to the reassignment of Stenonychosaurus as a junior synonym of Troodon. For more information on the anatomy, ecology, and ongoing research of this dinosaur, please refer to the entry on Troodon.
