The Prehistoric Experience
The center is home to a permanent exhibition called “Tinker the T-Rex.” This exhibit features a cast of the most complete juvenile Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton found to date, accompanied by hands-on STEM-based exhibits exploring the life and science of this iconic dinosaur.

This annual event focuses on Idaho’s fossil heritage. The 2025 event will feature the unveiling of a large, ancient crocodile skull, a close relative of dinosaurs. The festival includes hands-on activities, opportunities to meet paleontologists, and exhibits of local fossil discoveries, including dinosaurs from Idaho.

The Prehistoric Experience
The visitor center for Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument displays a variety of fossils, including some of Idaho’s rare dinosaur fossils. While the monument is primarily focused on the Pliocene Epoch, these displays provide visitors with a glimpse into the Mesozoic Era in Idaho.
