The Prehistoric Experience

The museum’s world-renowned fossil halls, including the Hall of Saurischian Dinosaurs and the Hall of Ornithischian Dinosaurs, feature an extensive collection of dinosaur skeletons. Highlights include iconic specimens of Tyrannosaurus rex, Apatosaurus, and a 122-foot-long Titanosaur cast.

Bronx Zoo Dinosaur Safari

The Prehistoric Experience

A walkthrough experience featuring over 60 life-sized, animatronic dinosaurs and pterosaurs. New for 2025 are 11 new dinosaurs, a walkthrough rib cage tunnel, and a climbable fossil.

Hours: Saturdays and Sundays 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM; Weekdays 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM during the event’s run.

Buffalo Museum of Science

The Prehistoric Experience

The museum’s ‘Rethink Extinct’ science studio features a collection of fossils, including a cast of a Tyrannosaurus rex skull and specimens of Triceratops and Albertosaurus. Visitors can also see a variety of other fossils from different geological periods.

Hours: Monday to Friday 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM; Saturday to Sunday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Center for Science Teaching and Learning: Dinosaurs!

Where the past roars to life! Experience the thrill of meeting life-sized, animatronic dinosaurs that move and roar in this exciting exhibit. Perfect for a family adventure, you can dig for fossils, learn from enthusiastic experts, and get up close with these incredible prehistoric creatures.

The Prehistoric Experience

This exhibit features over 15 animatronic dinosaurs, as well as full and partial dinosaur skeletons. Visitors can also participate in a hands-on dino dig and see a variety of live animals to learn about adaptation and survival.

Hours: Open 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM every day except Wednesday.

The Prehistoric Experience

Dino Roar Valley features a half-mile nature trail with life-sized, animatronic dinosaurs. The park includes hands-on activities like a fossil dig site and educational displays about various dinosaur species, including the massive Titanosaurus.

Hours: Open seasonally. 2026 hours begin Memorial Day Weekend (May 23-25) from 10am-5pm, weekends only in June, then 7 days a week from June 27th through Labor Day.

The ‘Dino Zone’ is a permanent exhibit featuring moving, life-like dinosaurs created in collaboration with paleontologists. The display depicts scenes from the Cretaceous era with species such as Maiasaura and Albertosaurus.
