The Prehistoric Experience

The museum’s world-renowned fossil halls, including the Hall of Saurischian Dinosaurs and the Hall of Ornithischian Dinosaurs, feature an extensive collection of dinosaur skeletons. Highlights include iconic specimens of Tyrannosaurus rex, Apatosaurus, and a 122-foot-long Titanosaur cast.

Hours: Open daily, 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM. Closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Bronx Zoo Dinosaur Safari

Get ready for a roaring good time on a safari 66 million years in the making! This beloved annual event at the Bronx Zoo brings you face-to-face with over 60 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs that move and roar. It’s a thrilling and educational experience for dino-lovers of all ages!

The Prehistoric Experience

A walkthrough experience featuring over 60 life-sized, animatronic dinosaurs and pterosaurs. New for 2025 are 11 new dinosaurs, a walkthrough rib cage tunnel, and a climbable fossil.

Hours: Saturdays and Sundays 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM; Weekdays 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM during the event’s run.

Buffalo Museum of Science

What to Expect

Discover the wonders of the natural world, from the age of dinosaurs to the present day. See impressive fossil displays and learn about the creatures that once roamed our planet. It’s a fantastic educational experience for the whole family in Buffalo!

The Prehistoric Experience

The museum’s ‘Rethink Extinct’ science studio features a collection of fossils, including a cast of a Tyrannosaurus rex skull and specimens of Triceratops and Albertosaurus. Visitors can also see a variety of other fossils from different geological periods.

Hours: Monday to Friday 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM; Saturday to Sunday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Center for Science Teaching and Learning: Dinosaurs!

What to Expect

Where the past roars to life! Experience the thrill of meeting life-sized, animatronic dinosaurs that move and roar in this exciting exhibit. Perfect for a family adventure, you can dig for fossils, learn from enthusiastic experts, and get up close with these incredible prehistoric creatures.

The Prehistoric Experience

This exhibit features over 15 animatronic dinosaurs, as well as full and partial dinosaur skeletons. Visitors can also participate in a hands-on dino dig and see a variety of live animals to learn about adaptation and survival.

Hours: Open 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM every day except Wednesday.

Embark on an epic outdoor adventure and walk among the giants! Explore a lush forest trail teeming with life-sized dinosaurs that move and roar, climb into a dinosaur nest, and dig for hidden fossils. This prehistoric journey in the heart of the Adirondacks is a must-do for every dinosaur lover!

The Prehistoric Experience

Dino Roar Valley features a half-mile nature trail with life-sized, animatronic dinosaurs. The park includes hands-on activities like a fossil dig site and educational displays about various dinosaur species, including the massive Titanosaurus.

Hours: Open seasonally. 2026 hours begin Memorial Day Weekend (May 23-25) from 10am-5pm, weekends only in June, then 7 days a week from June 27th through Labor Day.

What to Expect

Travel back in time to the age of the dinosaurs in Syracuse’s only permanent dinosaur exhibit! Get ready for a prehistoric journey as you encounter life-sized, moving dinosaurs in an immersive setting. It’s a fantastic destination for curious minds to explore the wonders of the ancient world.

The Prehistoric Experience

The ‘Dino Zone’ is a permanent exhibit featuring moving, life-like dinosaurs created in collaboration with paleontologists. The display depicts scenes from the Cretaceous era with species such as Maiasaura and Albertosaurus.

Hours: Thursday – Sunday, 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
